About the Position

Bevara is looking for a dedicated Director of Human Resources who is ready to jump in and lead the people function of a fast-growing company. Responsibilities:

• Employee Relations: Assist management with interpersonal conflicts amongst employees, document performance concerns, conduct internal investigations as necessary

• Performance Management: Oversee administration of performance management process, engage in performance discussions with employees, document performance concerns

• 401K plan administration: Partner with CFO to maintain Advisor relationship, ensure employee records are accurately maintained within 401K admin platform and payroll system, complete required compliance testing, File 5500 annually, complete annual audit

• Payroll: Manage Paychex relationship, become the company super-user capable of updating all records and employee access as needed, ensure that employee deductions and reimbursements are properly applied

• Employee Records: Maintain all employee records with accuracy within multiple platforms, pull information when requested for review or audit purposes, ensure that employee documents are properly filed when employees are hired/terminated/on leave.

• Safety: Oversee Safety and Compliance Specialist and support them with guidance as it may relate to; claims management, annual audits/true-ups, maintaining and posting OSHA logs, continual company safety training. Participate in Safety Committee

• Group Health Benefits: Partner with broker to manage renewal process, bring changing benefit trends and cost containment strategies to the attention of the Leadership team, conduct annual open enrollment process and employee education, manage relationships with benefit carriers, Administer COBRA, file 5500 annually, complete annual non-discrimination testing

• Recruiting: Oversee the Recruiting and Onboarding team, creatively lead recruitment efforts, participate in the interview process, manage relationships with employment agencies and engage when necessary

• Policies and Procedures: Update and maintain all company policies and procedures as necessary to maintain compliance with state and federal laws, recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of departments, services performed, and company operations as a whole

• Unemployment: Register unemployment accounts when starting in new states, respond timely to all unemployment claims, complete appeal documents when necessary, attend unemployment hearings and present on Bevara’s behalf if required

• Coaching and Mentorship: Serve as a coach and mentor to Bevara’s HR Generalist and employees at all levels of the organization, ensuring that management have support and guidance as needed, encourage continued focus on our company values at all times

• Perform other related duties as required and assigned


Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• 5 years of Human Resource experience – experience within a service-based industry preferred

• Strong working knowledge of employment law - experience with multi-state regulations is preferred (Bevara currently operates in 29 states)

• A strong moral compass

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Excellent attention to detail, strong ability to multitask, and strong organizational skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

• This position requires a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as a strong contributor on a team

• Previous experience with Paychex is a plus
